FREE PLAY
The first day
that I realized
I could dress myself
with no consequences from my parents or teachers
I combined a pair of striped swimming trunks
with clown fish printed on them
a polka dotted polo shirt with clown fish on it
and a stuffed novelty pin in the shape of a clown fish.
The reactions
in hindsight
were not positive.
Currently
I am left
to wonder-
Why did I own three different unrelated articles
with the theme “clown fish.”
