Weekend Recap

thursday
dinner at Padthai Kitchen: a little hole in the wall in South East, best Thai food i've had yet!
Wine & wood to make a fire in the fireplace
friday
Lunch at Blueplate: "If norman rockwell were a cook, he would work here", where they serve basically only one thing a day. today? Meatloaf Sandwich & Mashedpotatos. Perfect!
walk
Red paperlanterns at Portland Art Museum's China Design Now exhibit
[photo from my friend Stacey, that's me in the middle!]
Dinner at a hotdog stand 'a-frame shack in a parking lot' called Franks A Lot
walk
Laurelhurst theatre: vintage & restored where you can drink and you have a tray table like on a airplane.
saw Away We Go : "it's all those good things you have in you. The love, the wisdom, the generosity, the selflessness, the patience. The patience!" written by Dave Eggers (whose memoir I am currently reading)
saturday
public transit
soap shopping at Saturday Market & have been smelling like Sandalwood ever since!
walk
waterfront
walk
23rd area to a bourbon bar in an old converted Victorian (I figured this was the best way to make up for emasculating my boyfriend when i made him go soap shopping)
walk
more happy hour at Laurelwood Brew Pup: ordered a respectable kind of beer, "pale ale", not coors lite.
public transit
met up with a friend of mine from college, Andrea, whose boyfriend just moved into a once-church-now-bachelor-pad with 4 of his friends. Not joking - vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows and a baptismal tub which has been converted into a bar!

hope your weekend was fabulous!

  1. sounds like a wonderful weekend.. and makes me miss you very much. Didn't you just fall in love with Away We Go? I watched it a week ago and it makes my top fav list. Such a beautiful movie. I love Dave Eggers. I hope your life is just as beautiful and romantic as mine is right now. I can't wait to see you next. I was re-reading an old comment you left on one of my posts awhile back, and it made me smile. You have such an amazing, beautiful soul.
