The day I arrived at my apartment in Northampton, there was a package waiting on the doorstep. "for me, already? I just moved in." I thought. Inside the small craft envelope - sent from my best friend, Tessa - was a decal by Shanna Murray. It read Be Brave.
Those are two words I need to remember. Daily life feels like it should be easy (or, if not easy ... at least kind of comfortable.) But, there are so many new things to navigate here, strange city streets and people. Courage isn't just for the big decisions.
Strange places take bravery. Bravery on a daily basis.

(photo) with my iphone (available) online at Shanna Murray Illustrated Decals. her hand-done work is so wonderful.
Be brave, indeed! I keep telling myself that. Even just moving to another neighborhood nearby, the neighborhood in which I grew up, actually, seems to throw me off kilter.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gift that decal must be, and thank you for sharing it.
it certainly was. the thoughtfulness and encouragement made all the difference in that day ... and many since!
DeleteSo true. That's a great reminder. Especially for the great adventure that you're on. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful gift!
ReplyDeletelove it on the mirror!
ReplyDeleteI figured it'd be a good way to take it from home to home. Lord knows moving (even just down the street) takes a certain brand of bravery!
