Skeletons in my Closet

"its hard to know what parts of your life you should save so you can remember them later. Especially when the things we seem to remember are the things we would rather forget." Andy Rooney, 60 minutes from Sunday June 7th

. I finished cleaning out the closet in my room at home today. The pictures and letters and memories are all in boxes, tied neatly with ribbon. I don't need a physical shell to remind me of the mold that i left here to fit into. I don't need mementos leading me down a thought path, a road map to what I've lost.

. My drive home was wonderfully liminal: between being gone and being home. My friends and soul mates protected me from longing, loneliness and loss. And now that i'm alone ... those feelings are starting to find me.

. I miss everyone so so much tonight.

Jackson Browne - Fountain

"Going through some photographs I found inside a drawer
I was taken by a photograph of you
There were one or two I know that you would have liked a little more
But they didn't show your spirit quite as true
You were turning 'round to see who was behind you
And I took your childish laughter by surprise
And at the moment that my camera happened to find you
There was just a trace of sorrow in your eyes
Now the things that I remember seem so distant and so small
Though it hasn't really been that long a time

You've had to hide sometimes, but now you're all right
And it's good to see your smiling face tonight"
