Jack Kerouac | On Saying Goodbye

"What is that feeling when you're driving away from people and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? - It's the too huge world vaulting us and it's good bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies"
Jack Kerouac, On the Road

  1. this is one of my favorite quotes from this beautiful, beautiful novel. I feel this way quiet a bit. i think people like you and i are destined to always feel this way, because we love people SO much. the minute we meet someone we don't know how not to fall in love with them. but life is always changing and moving. i cry every time i have to say bye to anyone, or when i move, or anytime i travel, or even sometimes when i don't get to see someone as much as i would like. but it is what happens to free spirits. they roam. always. that is what i love about you. i know we are both definite existentialists to an extent, because we feel the need to experience, to feel anything and everything life has to offer. so we must learn to smile through the tears and realize the next adventure holds many more beautiful people that will fill up our hearts and expand our lives. okay miss you so much.
