Azar Nafisi | On Writing, Depsite.

" ... despite all their fears and anxieties for a future without jobs or security and a fragile and disloyal present, they write about their search for beauty"
Azar Nafisi, Reading Lolita in Tehran

sounds a bit like blogging, yes?
(1) my friend cassy on film, with my pentax (per the usual) (p.s.) more writing about writing

  1. i, too, have big plans for north carolina, & the only place i've ever visited there is charlotte (and coincidentally, that is not one of the places we're looking to move). i just have a feeling it will be lovely, & i hope i'm right!

thank you so much for sending inspiration my way - i definitely need it! and good luck with your endeavors, as well!

  2. I LOVE that book. I've been meaning to pick up the other one she wrote, but I haven't gotten to it quite yet.

It does sound a bit like blogging.

  3. Katie : It has been so inspiring. It includes both my favorite things: literature and women's issues. And what an eye-opening book to read - the information we get about the Middle East can be so politicized.
