The Golden Hour (and a zebra) in the Gorge

Golden Hour : in the Columbia River Gorge
Golden Hour
One of my basic qualifications for friendship is that you'll pull over when I want to take a picture. My sister says I should bring one of those stickers that they put on the mail-truck for whoever has the pleasure (burden?) of driving me : "caution, this vehicle makes frequent stops"

A few weekends ago, my friends and I took a day-cation along the Columbia River Gorge during the "golden hour" (the first and last hour of sun in the day) and the terraces were beyond beautiful.  I started squealing over the warm light from the backseat and Logan - being the good friend that he is - parked so I could take a few pictures.

We heard a rumor there was a zebra farm nearby. Yep ... zebras. In Oregon. I was as incredulous as you are. But wouldn't ya know, just down the winding road, we spotted them. Out in the pasture, enjoying the last rays of sun for the day - just like we were.

    1. Kate, the Zebras are actually in Hood River at a place called Schreiner Farms! It also has giraffes (but they were in their house for the night, so we didn't get to see them

    1. You know I struggle with photographing moving objects (actually, lets be real ... anything that's not a still life I set up on my kitchen table). Luckily I took 4 pictures of the zebras before the game-warden came (3 bad, 1 good)
