Robyn | Dancing On My Own

With the official start of Summer came the start of the Cancer zodiac, a sun sign I share with one of my very dearest friends. Having a sign in common has made him especially understanding of the kooky things that make us Cancers ... the sensitivity and the sentimentality. His birthday is a few days from now, and I began thinking of this time two years ago. We were both about to turn 23.

At midnight on his big day, Dancing On My Own played and he said it felt like a sign that the year might be a lonely one. But, a few weeks later he met a boy and they've been dating ever since.

Whenever I hear this song I'm thankful for the way the universe proves our predictions wrong

    1. well, two years ago. I'm about to turn 25 - and it sounds so old to me! Since I have a summer birthday I'm pretty much the last one of my school friends ... and every time I hear their age I have to resist the urge to say "WOAH - you're 25?"

thanks for the perspective, Kimia :)

  3. FYI Lizzie & I listen to Robyn on repeat — especially on gray days, as a pump-up. Second to this song: "Call Your Girlfriend." So. Good!

    1. I heard you playing it at your desk today! it takes a little something (like a song on repeat) to get me through that final 4:30 stretch.
