"oh god it's wonderful
to get out of bed
and drink too much coffee
and smoke too many cigarettes
and love you so much"
from Steps by Frank O'Hara
The sky seems bluer on these clear, cold days and somehow even further away. The sunshine is whiter too. Maybe it's that the air is thinner or maybe it's just all in my mind. This is a new experience for a Portland girl, who has only known winter in gray.

I know I probably should write something more introspective here, but I just have to say that I'm digging that dude's jacket...
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! I love that white winter sun.
ReplyDeleteYou're back!
ReplyDeleteand it's been a wet and stormy December, so I'm really dreaming of a different colored sun and sky. It's always a little bit like pearls here, iridescent in blues and pinks, when it snows, which is far too rarely, if you ask me.
Yes, getting back into that blogging groove! It snowed just the littlest bit here in Oregon today (but the sky was typically gray). I love white snow-skys, but the pearly ones you wrote about sound even more magical!
