Here we are! just a day away for 2014. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, 2013 was a whirlwind. It was busiest in the best sort of way: my first full year of my masters program, a summer break filled with weddings, and the most creatively productive year yet!
The Year in Film Photos
- January: a portrait session with Thamures and family
- February: on assignment at the Dream Away Lodge for Pioneer Magazine
- March: waiting for spring at the Smith College Bulb Show
- April: a snowy drive to the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art
- May: a trip to Milwaukee with my midwestern boyfriend
- June: the highlight of my year was photographing the sweetest couple, Taylor and Grant, at their wedding in Portland and their reception in San Diego!!
- July: my best friend Tessa got married
- August: my sister Lily got married
- September: my photo essay about Provincetown was published in the first Equals Record book
- October: apple picking
Most of it is archived on my computer to post "when I get some free time" which never came ... and never does come, I'm starting to realize. So here's to making time in 2014. I lost my mojo in November and December, and I'm resolving to get it back - and get back behind my camera - in the next couple of weeks! In the process, I'll be dusting off the ole shoeboxes and posting parts of 2013 through out the month; culminating in finally launching a photography website in February (here is a peek at my business cards!) So don't give up on me or this little blog, I hope big things are about to happen. xo.
i just couldnt be more excited for the photography website! and i hear you on making time... this was my least creative YEAR and i just feel bad about it. happy holidays sam! glad to read that all is well!
ReplyDeleteaw, thanks for your encouragement Allie! I believe I owe you a few photo prints. I'll e-mail you soon and we'll get something in the mail. Here's to a more creative year, for BOTH of us!
Deletei kinda feeling lost a little in the past 2 months. like questioning it all again. here's to another adventurous year of life. happy new year, Sam. it's gonna be 2014 in 2 hours and 3 minutes on my side of the world. still hard to believe 2013 is almost over.
ReplyDeleteI just came to a standstill in the last two months too! I'm so grateful for a fresh start. Happy New Year, Niken!
DeleteYou take the most beautiful photos. Can we please be real-life friends soon?
ReplyDeletegoodness, yes! true story: I almost applied to a PhD program in the twin cities and I thought to myself "well now Megan and I can be real-life friends!"
DeleteSam, if you're in Portland at all I'd love to meet up! Have a wonderful winter break :)
ReplyDeleteHilary, I'm only in town for a few more days! we'll have to get together this summer. I texted you back in August ... but didn't hear anything back. Maybe I got your # wrong (wouldn't be the first time.) Let's get together on the next break for sure! I want to hear all about the life you're building in Portland.
DeleteOh no! I was looking for a text from you in August and never got one. My email is hkorabik@gmail.com; I can give you my number again so we can get together next time you're here. Happy New Year and looking forward to your 2014 posts! :)
