I've been really in love with turquoise for a while: from my typewriter to the turquoise trim & dishes in my mexi-kitchen! So when Pantone named it their 2010 color of the year, I said tah-tah mimosa (last year's color) and smiled smugly at my Pantone-premonition.
They described the color as
"a protective talisman, a color of deep compassion and healing, and a color of faith and truth, inspired by water and sky. Through years of color word-association studies, we also find that Turquoise represents an escape to many"
and after 2009, couldn't we all use a little vacation?

p.s. if you think this doesn't effect you, you can't forget THIS scene from The Devil Wears Prada, about Pantone's color of the millennium: Cerulean.
Love all your turquoise finds! Great blog, by the way!
