this song is for eighty-degree summer mornings that start with spending two hours in the t-shirt you woke up in and a dance party for one.
weekend reading | Leading Lady
- Miranda July interviews Lena Dunham. I related to this too much ...
"That was a lovely time in my life in which I took delight, until recently, in a sort of self-destructive way. I'd be like, 'The good thing about when this relationship falls apart will be that I can be alone again and work in the middle of the night.' But it took me a while to realize that it was actually sort of an honor to share a life with this person and to figure out how to do that."
- also I just generally love Miranda July, so I'm really excited about her new project We Think Alone. It'll be 20 e-mails over 20 weeks in collaboration with some neat famous folks.
- I read her book No One Belongs Here More Than You during the first week I lived in Portland. I had just graduated from college, and I remember reading these words sitting on the waterfront and feeling like they were written for me.

ReplyDeleteI just bought No One Belongs Here More Than You last week and I'm so excited to read it! Also, the first week of July's email project was really interesting - it makes me feel so devilish to read these messages that weren't intended for my eyes in the first place.
